Born into a legacy of service, Dr. Hamzat has dedicated his life to the progress of Lagos State and its people.
Born on September 19, 1964, in Lagos, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat comes from a distinguished lineage of service. His father, Late Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat, served as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Commissioner for Transportation (1979-1983), and later as Vice-chairman (South West) of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
Named after Chief Obafemi Awolowo by his father, a dedicated Awoist, Dr. Hamzat carries forward the progressive ideals of his namesake. An engineer by training and a technocrat by profession, he has seamlessly blended technical expertise with political acumen.

Appointed by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and retained by Governor Babatunde Fashola. Deployed cutting-edge technology integrating Lagos State Public Service, making Lagos the first government institution in Africa to implement 11 modules of Oracle ERP.
Won the prestigious Lagos State Man of the Year Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the development of the state through technological innovation and infrastructure delivery.
Served as Special Adviser on Works to the Honourable Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola at the federal level, contributing to national infrastructure development.
